Bouncing back and going strong: thriving amidst challenge and change

We help individuals, teams and leaders more positively manage change and challenges; continuing to flourish while reducing stress and guarding against burnout.

Why is this program valuable to organisations?

Careers are navigated in increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) environments. Employees are facing unprecedented levels of pressure, stress and challenge.

Thriving at work involves sustained performance at high levels of social, emotional and psychological functioning. Developing mental agility through capacities such as resilience,  and optimism are key enablers of ongoing success.

Resilience has been demonstrated as a significant impact on most key outcomes in the world of work. Resilient leaders deliver a 29% increase in productivity, 30% reduction in mental distress and the ability to cope with prolonged adversity or uncertainty. It has also been demonstrated that women in leadership experience more distress and challenge to their resilience than men, and even more so when working in male-dominated environments.

Resilient employees are more engaged, more confident, able to set higher standards, are more contented, have better stress management and are prepared to be more innovative and manage more risk.

Resilience can be measured and developed. Our evaluations of past programs show immediate increases in participants’ sense of resilience, self-regulation and a subsequent increase in resilient behaviours. This work was showcased at the World Congress of the International Positive Psychology Association in 2019.

“We want people not only to cope better and guard against  burnout, but to learn and grow their capacity to be mentally agile - feeling strong, capable and energised”

Our promise

We help people understand their typical responses to challenge and change, then help them develop strategies to more positively approach and manage these difficult times. We want people not only to cope better and guard against  burnout, but to learn and grow their capacity to be mentally agile - feeling strong, capable and energised as a result.

Using the best of the evidence, interventions and tools from positive psychology, neuroscience and behavioural science, we work with your people to:

We have extensive experience in delivering this program in workshop format. What has worked well is a series of four lunchtime sessions, boardroom-style. Spreading out the course content over a few weeks gives participants an opportunity to consolidate learning, implement positive change as they move through the program and make motivating plans for the future.

Coaching has helped me develop resilience to a level which far exceeds my initial expectations. The most valuable outcome has been that I have developed better emotional control (especially managing my anxiety at work) through self-care and, establishing boundaries, and understanding my strengths. Coaching has helped me to identify and refine ways in which I can leverage my natural strengths to improve my confidence at work.

I wanted to help myself and my staff with strategies to be mindful therapists, without taking on board client’s emotions. Debra presented a resilience workshop at our conference. She was professional and informative, with a warm nature. This built trust and enabled staff to learn strategies to build resilience and cope better. Investing in the workshop was definitely time and money worth spending.
